1992 URISA Awards

Two years after the implementation of the GIS program in Qatar, The Centre for GIS was the proud recipient of The Urban and Regional Information Systems Association's (URISA) "Exemplary Systems in Government Award" and URISA's "Project Showcase Best Map Award". From that moment onward The Centre for GIS has attracted international attention.

1995 ESRI Award

In its fifth year of operation, The Centre for GIS again received international recognition when it received "ESRI's Highest Technological Achievement Award" for teamwork in having successfully implemented a nation-wide fully integrated GIS.
