GIS Steering Committee holds Meeting |

The GIS Steering Committee convened for its 23rd meeting in the Conference Room at the Centre for Geographic Information Systems (CGIS) on Tuesday, December 30, 1997. The meeting was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture (MMAA), Ali bin Saad Al Kuwari who is also the Chairperson along with all the steering committee members representing all 16 agencies in CGIS. Among the issues discussed were the present status of each agency and their various accomplishments since the conception of GIS in the State of Qatar. The members came to a conclusion that each agency is to submit a report on their achievements in their respective fields for the past seven years. Another topic on the agenda was a strategic plan for the implementation of GIS in the State of Qatar wherein a framework to control the activities of agencies was formed. Each agency is expected to operate within this framework. |
