True, changes are inevitable but then a lot of effort has to be put in for some of these changes to be fulfilled. In our previous issue, we spoke about changes in ideas, shape and content in all walks of life. In this issue, we believe change has certainly started to yield some fruit. At the Centre for Geographic Information Systems (CGIS), there is a lot of enthusiasm around as everyone sets out with sincerity, vigour and devotion to apply all their knowledge on a technology only they know well. The tone of co-ordination and co-operation among the employees reflects a well regulated and organised work and the realisation of working towards achieving a common goal. This is as a result of a sense of renewal and identifying the priorities of serious work and the beginning of implementations that are beneficial to citizens and the society in general. We felt a need to begin publishing some articles in Arabic in this issue of the Al-Khabar which is a quarterly and through suggestions that push us to create, apply other concepts in the coming issues. Step by step, and leaving no stones unturned, so that the steps of change are consistent, we will ascend to the top keeping in line with those changes that take place in all departments of the State. We received unexpected but tremendous responses from our readers requesting that the magazine be issued monthly focussing on the quality of articles and researches. This time, the ones we were able, we did and you will find that we have started to meet some of those requests in this issue ofcourse, considering the resources available to us. Later on, with time, we will try to implement other ideas and proposals brought forth by you, our readers. Also, various GIS agencies have started contributing new ideas through their articles in this issue. I hope that all those who are supporting us will continue to do so.We will, to the best of our ability, try to satisfy all the needs of our readers. Keep pitching in your ideas and send constructive criticism in order to lead all of us to a greater awareness and treasures of the GIS technology.
